The Medicare coverage law has changed in significant ways, with the passage of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that was signed by President Trump on July 4, 2025.
First: Many insurance companies are gone from the marketplace including Aetna and Regence. The companies remaining have modified the plans they offer, and frequently these changes have altered the coverage available.
Second: The law changes impact reimbursement rates for medical providers, benefits covered and access to doctors which has been reduced in most cases.
Third: Most companies will increase the insurance premiums by 5% or more. Check your coverage and premium.
Fourth: What should you do to address how these changes impact you and your family? Schedule an annual review with an “Independent Medicare Supplemental Insurance Representative” to explore the best supplemental Medicare insurance for your situation. Using an independent representative will give you access to a range of insurance providers vs. a captive agent can only offer plans available from a single company. The law and benefits and even the insurance providers change all the time.
To stay current and obtain the best Medicare supplemental insurance, schedule an appointment now to explore your options. If you fail to act you may be without insurance or have the wrong plan.
